On the third offensive series of Sunday’s game, the Green Bay Packers got some bad luck on the injury front. With the Packers struggling on offense, one of the team’s best pass protectors, right tackle Bryan Bulaga, left the field with an injury.
Bulaga was limping off the field following a run for a loss by Jamaal Williams, and was immediately replaced by Alex Light. He headed to the locker room after an initial evaluation by the medical staff on the sideline. The Packers officially announced him as questionable to return to the game with a knee injury.
The Packers’ first three offensive series have consisted of a fumble by Aaron Rodgers and a pair of three and outs. If Bulaga needs to miss the rest of the game, Light will stay in action against a talented 49ers defensive line. Expect San Francisco to try to line up rookie Nick Bosa on Light’s side to try to take advantage of the third-year pro.
Bulaga has been one of the Packers’ most consistent offensive linemen this season, missing only a portion of one game earlier this season. Stay tuned for further updates on his status.
UPDATE: The Packers ruled Bulaga out for the remainder of the game early in the second quarter.
