The final weekend of College Football’s regular season has arrived, and with it we will have two full days of college football action. This weekend also doubles as rivalry week for a number of college programs across the country, as many teams play their biggest conference rivals or in-state non-conference opponents.
The Big Ten conference features a few of the biggest of these rivalry games this weekend. First up on Saturday is Ohio State-Michigan, which fully brings the hatred out in both fan bases. Then in the afternoon, the Big Ten West is on the line as Wisconsin tries to take back Paul Bunyan’s Axe from Minnesota in college football’s oldest and most-played rivalry game. That series is currently tied all-time at 60-60-8, so the winner gets a little extra bragging rights this year.
Other trophy games are taking place this weekend, such as the Old Oaken Bucket game between Indiana and Purdue. Then we have those out-of-conference rivalries such as Florida-Florida State and Clemson-South Carolina.
