Packers-Chargers Inactives: Welcome back, Davante Adams

Davante Adams to make his triumphant return this afternoon against the Chargers.

The Green Bay Packers have just released the inactives list for Sunday’s week 9 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. As expected and widely hoped for, Davante Adams will give it a go after spending several weeks out with turf toe.

Green Bay comes in relatively healthy, and the only real notable absences are Robert Tonyan, still suffering from a hip injury, and backup corner Josh Jackson. Adam Pankey and Cole Madison will be out as well, with Tim WIlliams, Ka’Dar Hollman, and the recently acquired receiver Ryan Grant rounding out the list.

Jackson is a surprise, and the Chargers do have the ability to push your corner depth. However, Jackson hasn’t really acquitted himself well in terms of providing corner depth, and being a healthy scratch is not a great sign for his long term prospects.

Notably active for the first time will be rookie tight end Jace Sternberger, recently activated from IR. Sternberger is in many ways the best fit for the LaFleur offense among the TEs and it would not be surprising to see him make a quick impact.

For the Chargers, defensive linemen Justin Jones, Brandon MEbane, and Cortez Broughton will miss the game as well as safety Roderick Teamer, running back Troymaine Pope, and receiver Geremy Davis.
