Going into week 10, many teams around the NFL have an extensive list of players on the Friday Injury Report. The Green Bay Packers’ report continues to be short as they head into the second half of the season. When the Carolina Panthers come to Green Bay on Sunday, their list will be just as short.
During the week, the report may seem exhaustive. However, once you start digging into the list, it is mostly players with veteran rest or with a full participation delegation.
One surprise was that Jaire Alexander was added to the injury report after Friday’s practice due to a groin injury. He is listed as questionable for Sunday and the extent of his injury is unknown.
The only player who did not practice this week due to injury was Adrian Amos, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. He did return to practice on Friday, and he carries a questionable status for Sunday.
The entire starting 11 on the defensive side of the ball practiced on Friday, which should be a sign of good things to come. The last few weeks have been tough on the defense, and having the team at full strength should help them get back to where they were at the beginning of the season. With Alexander and Amos both questionable, that might not happen on Sunday.
On the offensive side, two wide receivers were limited in practice. Davante Adams has been practicing all week while carrying a limited participation tag after he played last week against the Chargers. Another wide receiver, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, was limited all week as well due to an ankle/knee injury. Both are off the injury report for Sunday.
Robert Tonyan has been practicing all week in a limited fashion and missed the start of practice on Friday, but was later seen on the bike. He has a doubtful status for Sunday. Head Coach Matt LaFleur said “He gets close and then something doesn't feel right” regarding Tonyan’s recovery.
As for the Panthers, the injury list is short also. On the offensive side, rookie lineman Greg Little will be out. He has been out since week 4, so it is no surprise he is a no go for week 10. The defensive side could be missing two players, with DT Vernon Butler and CB James Bradberry. The Packers will be looking to get back on track, and a depleted defense would be a big help.
The full inactive list will be available 90 minutes prior to the 3:25 CT kickoff.
