Despite a less-than-impressive six-week stretch over the past month and a half, the Green Bay Packers are in a position that just about any other team in the NFL would envy as they head into week 15.
Green Bay is in the second spot in the NFC and in position for a first-round bye if they win out. But of more pressing importance is the fact that the Packers can clinch a postseason berth in week 15 if they beat the Chicago Bears and get some help from one other team.
That team is the Dallas Cowboys, who will play the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon. With the Rams holding on to playoff hopes and sitting two games back of the Packers, they remain a viable threat to the Packers’ postseason hopes. However, a loss would send them to 8-6 on the season, and a Packers win would give them a full three-game lead on the Rams with just two to play, thus locking up at least a Wild Card spot.
Therefore, this week’s Rams-Cowboys game will be one to monitor in the late afternoon schedule, and luckily it will be widely broadcast across the country as FOX’s premier late game. While the APC contributor community feels good about the Packers beating the Bears at home this week, the picks are a bit split on that Rams-Cowboys contest, with more picks coming in for the Rams.
Still, the Packers simply need to take care of their own business in the final three weeks to get that all-important bye. APC likes them taking the first of the three final steps to get to that point.
You may notice a new format for picks this week — APC would like to thank TallySight for the new formatting. Head over to TallySight.com to see picks from APC’s contributors as well as other individuals and experts from across multiple media platforms.
