Everyone knows what’s at stake by now. The Green Bay Packers need to beat the Minnesota Vikings to keep their realistic hopes of a playoff bye alive. Meanwhile, the Vikings may be able to clinch a playoff berth before the game even kicks off if Saturday’s results break right for them.
But will the Packers finally earn their first victory at U.S. Bank Stadium? That is the question on our minds this week at APC as our contributors make their picks for week 16’s games. And, as you will see below, we are split pretty evenly on the result of the matchup.
Those of us who are picking the Packers are surely leaning on the expectation that Vikings running back Dalvin Cook, as well as his backup Alexander Mattison, will not play on Monday. That significantly eases the matchups on the ground for the Packers’ defense, and could prove to be a major difference in the game. Still, Minnesota is an excellent team on both sides of the football, and are sure to give the Packers all they can handle. That fact plus home-field advantage is surely why half of our writers have the Vikings winning this week.
Here are our picks for this week’s games.
