The Green Bay Packers did just about everything they could to sabotage their chances of upsetting the Minnesota Vikings in tonight’s pivotal NFC North tilt.
Aaron Jones fumbled on the team’s opening possession. Aaron Rodgers threw his third interception of the season. Davante Adams allowed Harrison Smith to punch out the ball. Jimmy Graham nearly caused a fourth turnover just before halftime.
Yet, despite trailing the Vikings by three in the turnover differential, the Packers only trail by one on the scoreboard. Green Bay’s defense has thus far delivered its finest performance since the early weeks of the season, headlined by Za’Darius Smith’s stellar play. Minnesota appears to have no answer for the fifth-year pass rusher, who already has three tackles for loss and a sack as well as multiple hits on quarterback Kirk Cousins. Even with multiple short field with which to work, the Vikings have managed just 10 points in the first half.
The Vikings will receive to open the third quarter. Keep your internet machines tuned to Acme Packing Company for the second half.
