Minicamp is closed. That’s the plan this year for the Green Bay Packers under new head coach Matt LaFleur, who has evidently decided that he does not want to make his team’s mandatory minicamp practices open to the public. With the team installing a new offensive scheme, it is not a crazy idea, but it is a bit disappointing for fans who have counted on seeing minicamp practices over the past decade-plus.
However, while fans can’t see practice with their own eyes today, the media will still be allowed onto Clarke Hinkle Field*, at least for a portion of practice. What they will be able to observe and report will remain to be seen, but APC has compiled all of the beat reporters into a single list to give you a one-stop shop for minicamp practice updates.
Will Trevor Davis continue to get first-team reps? Has Josh Jones shown up after skipping all of OTAs? Will the Packers keep playing Elgton Jenkins at guard, or will they give him a little bit of playing time at center? These are just a few of the questions we have this week.
Practice is scheduled to begin around 10:15 AM Central Time, so tune in here and follow along with us as we keep an eye on today’s practice.
* This article initially indicated that the team would be practicing indoors at the Don Hutson Center. The post has been updated to reflect the fact that practice is taking place outside at Clarke Hinkle Field instead.
