Wednesday marks the second day of the Green Bay Packers’ 2019 minicamp, and with it comes another day of practice. As was the case on Tuesday, the Packers are keeping practice closed off to fans, but the media will be in attendance and reporting from the session.
On Tuesday, the Packers saw the return of Josh Jones, at least to the team’s facilities. Jones did not practice due to a hamstring issue, but he spoke after practice and said that there were family reasons that kept him away during OTAs. The reports of Jones wanting out of Green Bay were on reporters’ minds, but he, coach Matt LaFleur, and GM Brian Gutekunst all danced around the topic.
Meanwhile, the Packers who were practicing seem to be solidifying their roles, at least when it comes to the starting lineup. Marquez Valdes-Scantling maintained the starting spot on the boundary, even in two-receiver sets, while rookie Darnell Savage continues to run with the starters at the safety position.
Those first-team reps should be one of the better items to watch in today’s practice, along with any standout plays from the multitude of wide receivers jockeying for roster spots.
Tune in here and follow along with us as we keep an eye on today’s practice.
