The Green Bay Packers took a day off on their final day of mandatory minicamp on Thursday, instead heading out for some team-building activities. This continues a tradition that Mike McCarthy started several years ago, and it gives the team an opportunity to bond off the field and interact more with other players outside of their own unit.
Until just before 10 AM Central time, however, there was no confirmation on what exactly the team was doing. However, second-year cornerback Josh Jackson provided that info via his Instagram story: the team is heading out to play some paintball:
That’s a pretty nice-looking paintball rig that Jackson has there. Keep an eye on his Instagram account to see if he posts any photos from the day’s event. In addition, The team often posts photos to Packers.com following these events as well, so check that out this afternoon as well.
Given the choice of activity, it’s a sure bet that head coach Matt LaFleur will simply be watching from the sidelines rather than taking part. After all, driving around the field on a golf cart or wheeling his torn Achilles tendon around on a scooter would make him a sitting duck.
