When the Green Bay Packers took the field for an open OTA practice last Wednesday, their head coach had two intact Achilles tendons. Now Matt LaFleur is functioning with just one, having torn the other in a game of Lightning* last Wednesday.
* That’s right, folks. We call the game “Lightning” here at APC, not “Knockout.”
Now, after reportedly having surgery to repair the tendon on Sunday, LaFleur will be driving around Clarke Hinkle Field on a golf cart providing his players with instruction and coaching in a little bit of a less hands-on capacity. That may be one of the bigger storylines from today’s practice, though the personnel groupings that the team uses in various different drills should be worth monitoring as usual.
Tune in here for practice updates throughout the afternoon today, as practice begins at 12:05 PM Central. And as always, stay tuned to Acme Packing Company for updates, news, and analysis of all the offseason workouts as Matt LaFleur’s team continues to work towards next week’s minicamp and the start of training camp in late July.
