Starters? Wait another week if you want to see them. This is the fourth week of the preseason, which means that all the playing time for all 32 teams around the NFL is going to players fighting for depth roles or spots on the 53-man rosters and practice squads.
The final day — yes, day — of the 2019 preseason is here. For the last preseason games, every team will suit up on Thursday as they have all day Friday and most of Saturday to whittle their rosters down from 90 players to 53. Usually we will see matchups between teams in relatively close proximity to one another; in fact, few teams will even travel over a time zone boundary for this evening’s games.
For the Green Bay Packers, the opponent tonight is a familiar one in the exhibition season. The Packers and Kansas City Chiefs seem to conclude every preseason together, usually alternating between home and road games each year. Indeed, eight of the last ten years have seen these two teams settle their final roster battles against one another, with the only off years coming in 2015 and 2017.
Meanwhile, two games will be on national television tonight, as the NFL Network will show one early game and another in the late time slot on the West Coast. Here’s the full schedule of games for this evening.
