After two days of joint practices this week, the Green Bay Packers and Houston Texans are ready to open up their 2019 preseason schedules. Thursday marks the beginning of both teams’ on-field journeys this year.

The Packers look to rebound from a dismal 6-9-1 season that saw head coach Mike McCarthy fired with four weeks to go in the season. New coach Matt LaFleur will get his first taste of in-game playcalling as a head coach in this game, though Aaron Rodgers is not expected to play this week.

The Texans, meanwhile, will look to build on an 11-5 record in 2018 and an AFC South division title. Houston fell to the Colts in the Wild Card round of the playoffs last January, however, but the Texans defense looks like a solid unit once again behind J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney, both of whom are also unlikely to play.

Instead, this game is all about getting a head start on player evaluation down the roster. Tune in to see how the rosters on both sides start shaping up.
