APC Week 2 NFL Picks: Packers will move to 2-0 with win over Vikings

A 2-0 start? That’s what Acme Packing Company believes will be in store for the Green Bay Packers. The team hosts the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday in the first regular season game at Lambeau Field in 2019, the second straight game against an NFC North opponent.

Last week, the Packers traveled south for the NFL’s season opener and pulled off a 10-3 victory over the Chicago Bears. However, with offensive struggles galore, it was up to the defense to carry the load. This week against the Vikings, the Packers will look to get their offensive attack moving and get to more of their game plan against a defense that is still good, but probably is not the equal of Chicago’s.

APC’s writers are feeling good about this game, however, even despite the Packers being just a three-point favorite at home. In an overwhelming majority, the Packers are the pick as the straight-up winner for Sunday’s game.

Whichever team does emerge victorious will take at least a half-game lead in the division. The Detroit Lions sit at 0-0-1 after a tie in Arizona last week, while Chicago’s 0-1 start leaves them no better than .500. And a victory over the Denver Broncos is no sure thing for the Bears, either; Denver is a notoriously difficult place to play, particularly early in the season, and Vic Fangio will be uniquely equipped to coach against the Bears after serving as the team’s defensive coordinator for the past several years.
