Can the Green Bay Packers move to 3-0 in Matt LaFleur’s rookie season as head coach? That question and more will be answered on Sunday afternoon as the Packers host the Denver Broncos and a fellow rookie head coach.
Of course, Denver’s head man is a far more experienced coach than LaFleur overall. Vic Fangio has coached longer than LaFleur has been alive, with 40 years experience overall in the field. 32 of those seasons have come in the NFL, as he started way back in 1986 as the New Orleans Saints’ linebackers coach.
This week, APC is feeling good about the Packers’ chances, however. Sure, Fangio’s defenses have been a challenge for Rodgers over the years, but the Packers are 5-2 against the Bears when Fangio coached and Rodgers started. The records skew well back towards Fangio from his time with the San Francisco 49ers, however, with the Niners going 4-0 against the Packers during his tenure there.
Which way will Sunday’s game go? APC believes in Rodgers and, perhaps more importantly, the Packers’ defense. It’s a clean sweep in our picks this week, which should come as little surprise given the Packers being favored by more than a touchdown.
Here are this week’s picks for all 16 games across the NFL.
* Note that APC contributors may adjust picks for the Panthers-Cardinals game depending on Cam Newton’s injury status.
