The opening two quarters of the 2019 NFL season are in the books, and the Green Bay Packers lead the Chicago Bears by a narrow 7-3 advantage.
The first half began slowly for Green Bay, with Matt LaFleur’s new offense producing negative yardage on each of the team’s first two possessions. A third possession also went three and out, suggesting that the lack of preseason work for Aaron Rodgers and the first-string offense might indeed have ramifications for the regular season.
However, the Packers broke out on their next series. Rodgers hit Marquez Valdes-Scantling deep off a play-action fake. Three plays later, the two-time MVP found Jimmy Graham for the first touchdown of the 2019 season.
Now at halftime, the Packers will see how well LaFleur will have to make his first in-game adjustments. Keep your internet machines tuned to Acme Packing Company for the second half of Packers versus Bears.
