Packers-Seahawks Injury Report: Clark questionable along with several Seattle linemen

It will be fascinating to see who lines up in the trenches in Sunday’s game.

The lists of inactives will be very interesting on Sunday when the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks release them about 90 minutes prior to kickoff of their Divisional Playoff game. Both teams have a few key players listed as questionable (with one Seattle starter doubtful), making for a number of game-time decisions that could very well affect major matchups — particularly in the trenches.

For the Packers, the biggest question mark is around nose tackle Kenny Clark. One of the league’s best pass-rushing interior defensive linemen, Clark has been limited in practice the last two days with a back issue after sitting out Wednesday’s practice. An off day on Saturday may be just what the doctor ordered. However, Clark has played almost 85 percent of the team’s defensive snaps this year, and he is therefore an essential part of the unit. Any inability to play — or limitations on how many snaps he could take — would be a major problem for defensive coordinator Mike Pettine.

Compounding that problem a bit is the fact that one of Clark’s backups, Tyler Lancaster, is also questionable. He caught the bug that has been going around the locker room of late, missing practice late int he week. Hopefully he will have kicked the illness by game time to help spell Clark as necessary. Tailback Dexter Williams and fullback Danny Vitale came down with the same illness, in addition to Vitale coming back off a knee injury, and both are also listed as questionable.

For the Seahawks, however, the injury issues are even more significant, and they are striking both lines. Most unlikely to play is left guard Mike Iupati, who is doubtful with a neck injury. Left tackle Duane Brown and his backup, George Fant, are both questionable, with Brown trying to work his way back from knee surgery that cost him the last several games. Fant is a serviceable backup, but if both are unable to go, that would require second-year pro Jamarco Jones to fill in, and he has struggled mightily when called into action.

On the Seahwks’ defensive line, one starter and a key backup are also questionable for Sunday. End Ziggy Ansah injured his neck in last week’s Wild Card win over Philadelphia, while tackle Quinton Jefferson is dealing with a groin injury. Finally, joining this group of questionable players is a backup safety, Marquise Blair.

Here are both teams’ injury reports. Be sure to check in for the inactives report on Sunday afternoon.
