Despite punter JK Scott appearing on the injury report with an illness, the Green Bay Packers will have him available for Sunday’s NFC championship matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.

After an illness spread through the Green Bay locker room leading up to last Sunday’s tilt with the Seattle Seahawks, Scott became sick less than 48 hours before the NFC title game, casting his availability in doubt. However, the Packers opted against filling their 53rd roster spot with a backup punter on Saturday, using it instead to activate defensive back Raven Greene off injured reserve. That move suggested that the team believed Scott would ultimately play in San Francisco, which it now appears he will.

Though Greene could have played Sunday, the Packers decided to leave him on the inactive list. That decision leaves Ibraheim Campbell to handle the hybrid linebacker-safety role that Green occupied at the start of the season.

Meanwhile, fullback Danny Vitale will spend a second straight week on the sidelines. Vitale missed the Packers’ divisional-round game with an illness and a knee injury. Though the sickness has dissipated, his knee did not improve enough to allow him to play Sunday. Green Bay used tight end Jace Sternberger in Vitale’s place last week and could do so again against the 49ers.

As for the 49ers, all their inactive players represent healthy scratches. The team had no names on its final injury report, allowing head coach Kyle Shanahan and his staff to choose from their full arsenal of personnel.
