The Green Bay Packers entered week five undefeated at 4-0, one of just four teams to hold that record and just six undefeated teams across the NFL. The Packers have an early bye week in 2020, which comes with fairly fortunate timing given the team’s glut of injuries to key players.
Green Bay will still remain a half-game up on the Chicago Bears in the NFC North after this weekend’s football action concludes, as the Bears moved to 4-1 on Thursday night with a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After that, the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions both sit at 1-3 and at the bottom of the NFC North.
Minnesota will have an opportunity to knock off one of the other undefeated teams on Sunday Night Football, traveling to Seattle to play the 4-0 Seahawks. Russell Wilson is Aaron Rodgers’ top competition for MVP through the first quarter of the season, as the two rank 1-2 in most passing efficiency categories.
This week’s games will have an odd feel, however, with another two contests initially scheduled for Sunday being postponed. The Denver Broncos and New England Patriots game was pushed back, with that decision coming down Sunday morning due to COVID testing results; the two teams will play next week. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans are scheduled to meet on Tuesday, but that game remains in question with positive tests continuing to roll in from Tennessee.
For Sunday, at least, enjoy the 11 games that will take place and join us here throughout the games to discuss.
