This week, two of the NFL’s best quarterbacks will be on national television — or at least that appears to be the case.
Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers takes the field on Monday night against the Atlanta Falcons, a team against whom he has tremendous career statistics. Rodgers has six 300-yard passing games and seven games with a passer rating over 100 against the Falcons in nine tries (including playoffs), and he has thrown just three interceptions. However, the Packers are just 4-5 against Atlanta in that time.
This year, Rodgers is among the NFL’s leaders in most passing categories, signaling a career resurgence. But the other quarterback alluded to in the first sentence above, Patrick Mahomes, is also right there with Rodgers near the top of the NFL passing leaderboards. Mahomes faces a New England Patriots team in the late afternoon slate on in a game that was scheduled for late Sunday afternoon. However, with positive COVID tests for both teams, the game has been delayed to sometime later this weekend, making it the second game to get pushed back after Steelers-Titans.
Like Rodgers, Mahomes has had great statistical success against this week’s opponent, with over 280 passing yards in each of three games against the Pats. However, his team is just 1-2, with one of the two defeats coming in the AFC Championship Game two years ago.
This week, however, APC likes both Rodgers’ and Mahomes’ teams as home favorites against these familiar opponents. Check out our picks for week four below.
