At 6-3, the Indianapolis Colts currently hold the lead in the AFC South division. A victory over the Tennessee Titans last Thursday night gave them the early head-to-head tiebreaker over their divisional rivals, and Indy’s defense has led the way for Frank Reich’s team through ten weeks of the 2020 season.
This Sunday afternoon, they will face one of the most efficient and explosive offenses in the NFL as the Green Bay Packers head into Lucas Oil Stadium. In fact, this should be a tremendous test for both units — the Packers rank second in offensive DVOA and third in points scored, while the Colts’ defense is fourth in points allowed, first in yards allowed, and fourth in defensive DVOA.
Perhaps it is the strength vs. strength matchup that gives us at Acme Packing Company pause when picking the game this weekend. Green Bay in theory should be able to execute its offense better inside the Oil Can than it did last week in ugly, windy conditions at Lambeau Field, but doing so against an elite defense will be no easy task. The Colts are a two-point favorite as of Thursday afternoon, and while a slight majority of our writers predict a Packers win outright, there is plenty of concern and trepidation with a handful going for Indianapolis instead.
Meanwhile, APC sees exciting games coming up on Thursday night between the Seahawks and Cardinals and on Monday night between the Rams and Buccaneers. Check our picks below and let us know what you expect to happen on Sunday afternoon as well.
