Rams and Buccaneers battle for playoff positioning on Monday Night Football

A Rams win bumps the Packers down into the 3-spot in the NFC, while a Bucs win keeps them at 2.

NFL: SEP 29 Buccaneers at Rams

The Green Bay Packers head out of Sunday and into Monday as the second seed in the NFC, but their positioning in the conference will be dependent on the result of this evening’s game on Monday Night Football. This game features a pair of contenders in the NFC that enter the day in second place in their respective divisions, but one could slide in above the Packers with a victory this evening.

That team is the Los Angeles Rams, who currently sit at 6-3, a half-game back of the Seattle Seahawks. However, a Rams win tonight would pull them even with Seattle and give them the division lead thanks to LA’s head-to-head win in week 9. The Rams would then hold a tiebreaker over the Packers by virtue of a superior record within the NFC.

In their way tonight are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are themselves jockeying for playoff positioning. Tampa needs to win to stay a half-game back of the 8-2 New Orleans Saints in the NFC South, and with the Kansas City Chiefs on deck next week, it doesn’t get any easier for Tom Brady and company.

Join us tonight to follow along with the game and see if the Packers end week 11 in the two or three spot in the NFC.
