Seahawks and Eagles play a Wild Card rematch on Monday Night Football

Last year, Seattle’s win in Philly sent them to play the Packers in the Divisional round. This year’s game could have major NFC playoff seeding implications as well.

NFL: JAN 05 NFC Wild Card - Seahawks at Eagles

Back in January, the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles met in a Wild Card playoff game. With the Minnesota Vikings’ win at New Orleans earlier in the day, that meant that the winner of the Seattle-Philly game was guaranteed a trip to Green Bay to play the Packers in the Divisional round.

In that game, Seahawks rookie wideout D.K. Metcalf exploded, catching seven passes for 160 yards and a touchdown as Seattle won 17-9 and booked a trip to Wisconsin. On Monday Night Football this evening, the two teams will meet in a rematch of that Wild Card game and one will travel for a road date to play the Packers in a week, but that will not be dependent on the winner of this game.

Next week, the Packers will host the Eagles in the late afternoon for the teams’ scheduled week 13 matchup, making this the final opportunity to get eyes on Doug Pederson’s team prior to that game. Next week will also be a rematch from 2019, when the Eagles gave the Packers their only home loss of the year in week 4.

Tune in for tonight’s game and join us in the comments throughout.
