On Thursday night, the Green Bay Packers will finally have the services of running back Aaron Jones once again. Their star runner has sat out each of the past two games with a calf injury he suffered in practice, but he will be active for this evening’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Jones will be a necessary part of the team’s offensive game plan, as the team’s second- and third-string tailbacks, Jamaal Williams and AJ Dillon, are both inactive for the game on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Tyler Ervin and emergency practice squad call-up Dexter Williams will instead serve as the backups tonight, though they may get some planned carries in an effort to keep Jones fresh.

Like Jones, left tackle David Bakhtiari missed the last two contests with an injury and was listed as questionable on the Packers’ Wednesday injury report. However, Bakhtiari will miss one more game as a result of his chest injury, leaving Billy Turner to start at left tackle once again.

While Jones’ and Bakhtiari’s statuses were uncertain heading into the game, a few of the Packers’ inactives were established on Wednesday when the team released its injury report for the game. The Packers announced that three players would be ruled out for the game: cornerback Kevin King and safeties Will Redmond and Vernon Scott.

The Packers will fill those spots with a few players whom they elevated from the practice squad as COVID-19 replacements. Henry Black will be active for the third straight game, while cornerback Stanford Samuels appears poised to make his NFL debut.

Here is the team’s full list of inactive players for tonight’s game.

  • LT David Bakhtiari
  • CB Kevin King
  • QB Jordan Love
  • S Will Redmond
  • S Vernon Scott
  • DT Billy Winn
