Today, the NFL begins in earnest its late push for the final quarter of the 2020 regular season. 14 games are taking place today, with three games featuring teams that are both in playoff position at present.
The first of those contests is early today, as the AFC West-leading Kansas City Chiefs head to South Beach to play the 8-4 Miami Dolphins. Miami sits a game back in the AFC East, but holds the sixth seed as a Wild Card, a game up on the first teams out of the playoff picture. Also in the early slate is a battle between the last two teams in Wild Card position in the NFC, with the Minnesota Vikings playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Then, after the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions square off in the late afternoon, the other potential playoff matchup takes place in prime time. The Pittsburgh Steelers lost their first game of 2020 on Monday afternoon to Washington, but they still sit in the top spot in the conference for the time being. They will play the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football with the Bills having an opportunity to keep alive their hopes for the top seed in the AFC.
