With their week 15 game taking place last night, the Green Bay Packers can kick back and scoreboard watch on Sunday as the NFC’s playoff picture continues to become clearer with each passing moment. Today, the Packers will be cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs as they visit the New Orleans Saints in a big game between some of the NFL’s best teams.
The Saints have largely stayed afloat during Drew Brees’ absence, turning to Taysom Hill at quarterback and going 3-1 over the past four games. However, that loss, last week at Philadelphia, knocked them back into a two-way tie with the Packers for the best record in the NFC, a tie that Green Bay will win due to the Packers’ victory in the game between the two teams in week three.
Meanwhile, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs hope to sustain their quest for home-field advantage through the AFC playoffs. Kansas City should be able to clinch the top seed with two more wins this season, as they would likely hold any potential tiebreakers over the Pittsburgh Steelers, should they track down the Chiefs on overall record.
That game gets nationwide treatment in the late afternoon time slot, but Sunday Night Football’s contest got flexed in about two weeks ago. Yes, the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants moved into prime time, usurping the 49ers-Cowboys matchup. Cleveland is in Wild Card position while the Giants are hunting for an NFC East title and a playoff spot of their own.
Join us throughout the day here as we follow along with all of this Sunday’s games.
