NFL Week 16 Sunday Schedule: Colts-Steelers & Rams-Seahawks will shape seeding

The Green Bay Packers have a tough test today as they host the Tennessee Titans, but as has been the case frequently of late, they will not take the field until after most of the rest of the league’s action is complete. With the Packers taking the field for Sunday Night Football, that leaves ten other games on earlier in the day, some of which will have massive playoff seeding implications.

In the early slate, the Steelers-Colts game could shake up the AFC playoff picture a bit. Pittsburgh is on a three-game losing streak after starting 11-0, and they could fall all the way down to the Wild Card if they keep losing out and the Cleveland Browns win their final two games.

However, the game that could impact the Packers most significantly today is the premier game of the late afternoon schedule between the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams. A Rams victory or a tie in that contest means that the Packers would be able to clinch the NFC’s top seed by beating the Titans tonight, which would then give the team an opportunity to rest some key players next week in Chicago should they so choose.
