On Thursday evening, the Green Bay Packers announced that the team has finalized its preseason schedule for 2020. At least this is the final schedule if football returns on time in August, given that COVID-19 concerns continue to raise major question marks about the timing and logistics of a potential return to football.
The games had already been announced in order one week earlier, coming out along with the full regular season schedule. However, dates and times were not locked in at that time, but this announcement provides those details.
Green Bay will play the first half of the preseason at home, facing the Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns at Lambeau Field. With this week’s announcement, both games will be played on Saturday afternoons in mid-August. The Packers are then scheduled to play the New York Giants in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday night before closing the exhibition season with a familiar opponent, the Kansas City Chiefs, on the Thursday night before Labor Day.
Again, this may still all be subject to change, but for now the schedule is in place.
