APC NFL Picks, Week 1 2020: Feeling good about Packers’ matchup with Vikings

Despite the Vikings being favored, APC has no problem picking the Packers to start 1-0.

Real NFL games taking place this week mean that it’s time to start making picks once again for said games. Here at Acme Packing Company, our staff is back to making our usual straight-up picks with a handful of writers picking against the spread, all with a little help from our friends at TallySight.

The Green Bay Packers open up this week in Minnesota, playing the Vikings inside a fan-less U.S. Bank Stadium. Equally important is the fact that the Vikings will not have the services of two of their intended starting defensive linemen; end Danielle Hunter landed on injured reserve this week while newly-signed nose tackle Michael Pierce chose to opt out of the season under the NFL’s COVID-19 provisions.

Combined with a massive turnover at cornerback, APC’s writers are feeling bullish on Aaron Rodgers and company getting off to a good start in the Twin Cities. However, sprotsbooks have the Vikings favored by 2.5 points, presumably factoring in some amount of home-field advantage. How much will that matter this season when fans are not in the seats? Tune in on Sunday to find out.

Check out our picks below on the Packers’ week one matchup as well as all of the other games around the NFL for this weekend.
