Packers Week 2 Injury Report: Kenny Clark sits out Wednesday as Turner returns

Green Bay had all of its offensive linemen (except Lane Taylor) working in at least some capacity during Wednesday’s practice.

When the Green Bay Packers left the field at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday afternoon, their offensive line for week two’s game against the Detroit Lions was very much a question mark. Lane Taylor was presumed done for the year, while Lucas Patrick had left the game early and Billy Turner was inactive.

Thankfully, when Wednesday’s practice rolled around, two of those three players were able to participate. Taylor is still going to go on injured reserve, but both Turner and Patrick were limited participants as the Packers begin their preparations for the Lions game. If the two play, that could mean that the Packers roll with those two as the starting right guard (Patrick) and right tackle (Turner), or it could at least mean that one of them starts at guard next to Rick Wagner, who filled in nicely at the tackle spot in week one.

The most problematic injury on the Packers’ report from Wednesday, however, remains nose tackle Kenny Clark. Clark did not participate in today’s practice after leaving the Vikings game with a groin injury shortly before halftime. The Packers are already dealing with another injured defensive lineman in Montravius Adams, but Clark’s impact on defense cannot be overstated; he is deserving of every penny of the massive new contract he signed this summer, anchoring the middle of the line and providing a significant interior push on the pocket as a pass-rusher. Clark may still have a chance to play on Sunday, but he will probably need to see the field at least sometime this week in order to do so.

Additionally, the Packers listed Equanimeous St. Brown as a limited participant for Wednesday, perhaps shedding a bit of light on why he was a gameday inactive in week one. Did St. Brown tweak a knee in walkthroughs on Sunday morning, leading to his deactivation? Expect to find out some more information about his injury later this week.

Here’s the full injury report for Wednesday’s practice.
