41 points and 522 yards. That’s what the Green Bay Packers’ offense did in their 43-34 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in week one, and the team heads back to Lambeau Field for their home opener this week against another divisional opponent.
The Detroit Lions come in fresh off a devastating implosion, a 27-23 loss to the Chicago Bears that saw them give up a 17-point lead in the fourth quarter. Much of that blown lead was due to the Bears picking apart Detroit’s pass defense, particularly when the team saw two starting cornerbacks leave the game with hamstring injuries. One of them, slot cornerback Justin Coleman, is on injured reserve and will be out for this weekend’s game, while another, Desmond Trufant, has not practiced this week as of Thursday.
As a result, it should come as little surprise that APC’s writers are confident in the Packers’ chances to win on Sunday and improve to 2-0 on the young season. We are a confident bunch in terms of Green Bay’s odds of beating the 5.5-point spread as well.
Check out our picks for all of week two’s games below.
