Packers Week 3 Injury Report: Jenkins & Savage join Kenny Clark as questionable

Both the Packers and Saints are likely to be without their star wide receivers for Sunday’s game.

It’s all but a sure thing now. When the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints take the field on Sunday night, each team appears set to play without its best wide receiver.

For the Packers, that is Davante Adams, who has not practiced all week. The Packers officially ruled him Doubtful for the game on Friday’s injury report as a result. Adams injured his hamstring in the second half of last Sunday’s win over the Detroit Lions, and the team appears insistent on bringing him back slowly. The Saints, meanwhile, know for certain that Michael Thomas will not play for a second straight week. He is dealing with a high-ankle sprain and was ruled out on Friday.

Green Bay may have the services of its top defensive linemen on Sunday, however. Kenny Clark was a limited participant in Thursday’s full-pads practice, leading him to receive a Questionable designation on Friday. If Clark can return, that would be a significant boost for a team that has struggled to stop the run even with him on the field and to find any notable interior pass rush without him.

Friday also saw a pair of Packers starters show up on an injury report for the first time and land with questionable statuses for Sunday. First is left guard Elgton Jenkins, who did not practice with back and rib issues. Safety Darnell Savage is the other such player, as he was limited on Friday with a groin issue. The Packers’ already banged-up offensive line would be in a very tough position if Jenkins would be unable to play, though it appears that Lucas Patrick, Corey Linsley, and Billy Turner could all go, which would likely be the makeup of the interior of the line from left to right.

The Packers also have a few other players listed with an injury status for Sunday’s game. Rookie tight end Josiah Deguara is also doubtful for Sunday and looks set to miss a second straight game, while outside linebacker Randy Ramsey joins him as doubtful as well.

Here’s the full report for the Packers.
