Rams’ injury report looks ominous on Tuesday ahead of Divisional Playoff game with Packers

The Rams listed three full-time starters and the quarterback who started last week’s Wild Card game as non-participants in the first injury report of the week.

With the Divisional Playoff game between the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams set for Saturday afternoon, the two teams released their first injury reports of the week on Tuesday, reflecting players’ statuses in practice. Interestingly, although the Rams played last Saturday and are therefore on a normal seven-day week, they held only a walkthrough today as they try to get healthy for the upcoming game at Lambeau Field.

That day off from full practice may be very necessary, as several of the Rams’ key players were estimated as being unable to participate had the team worked normally. The name that will make headlines is defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who suffered a rib injury in the Rams’ win over the Seattle Seahawks last weekend. Donald is listed with a “did not participate” status, indicating that his injury is indeed significant and that his status will bear monitoring throughout the week.

Joining Donald with DNP statuses are three of the 11 starters on the Rams’ offense last Saturday. Quarterback John Wolford suffered a neck stinger in the game and was held out of practice, while left guard David Edwards — a former Wisconsin Badger — sat with an ankle issue. However, the biggest name on that side of the football is wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who appeared to have a non-contact knee injury during the game.

As for the Packers, only one player was unable to participate in the team’s practice on Tuesday, which was the equivalent of a Wednesday practice session on a normal week. That player is defensive lineman Kingsley Keke, who continues to sit out as he goes through the concussion protocol. The rest of the players on Green Bay’s report were listed as limited, with six players having that status as they continue to work through various nagging injuries.

Notably, Rick Wagner remained limited on Tuesday, though he played every snap in the Packers’ week 17 game in Chicago. Wagner’s knee injury will continue to be worth monitoring, but the Packers did have veteran Jared Veldheer at practice already on Tuesday to provide excellent depth at the tackle positions. That depth should be invaluable with David Bakhtiari remaining out for the Packers’ playoff run.

Here are the injury reports for both teams on Tuesday.
