There’s nothing quite like an NFC Championship Game at Lambeau Field. It’s the biggest, most meaningful environment possible at the hallowed football grounds (assuming that the NFL never brings a Super Bowl to Green Bay), and it’s a game that we finally get to see again this afternoon for the first time in 13 years.
Yes, the Green Bay Packers are hosting the NFC title game today, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in town. The two former NFC Central rivals will square off with a trip back to Tampa on the line, as Super Bowl LV will be played at Raymond James Stadium, the Buccaneers’ home field.
Of course, the big storyline in today’s game is Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady meeting in the postseason for the first time in their storied careers. Brady has led the Bucs to an impressive resurgence, but the Packers’ offense was the best in the NFL this season and just demolished the league’s best defense eight days ago. Now they will face a Bucs team that is surprisingly missing one of its most important defensive backs, as Antoine Winfield, Jr. was ruled out as a game-time decision.
Can the Packers finally punch their ticket to a second Super Bowl appearance in the Rodgers era? Tune in this afternoon to find out.
As always, we have tweets from Packers media below and join us in the comments or the APC Discord as we follow along with this afternoon’s game. As was the case last week, several APC staff members will be live on a video stream after today’s game to break things down and take questions. So join us here during the game and hopefully in celebration afterwards!
