The biggest question of the week in Green Bay was if offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins would be healthy enough to play his first game since his Week 2 ankle injury. When the Packers officially released their inactives list today, the bad news settled in: Jenkins won’t suit up against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Not only is Jenkins, who has been subbing in for David Bakhtiari at left tackle, out, but rookie center Josh Myers is inactive due to a finger injury that occurred at practice this week. One would assume that Yosh Nijman, who has started at left tackle the last two weeks, and Lucas Patrick, who has experience at center, will play in place of Jenkins and Myers.

The two newest Packers, cornerback Rasul Douglas and linebacker Jaylon Smith, will not be active today as it is assumed they need another week to learn the team’s scheme before they’re ready for live bullets. Two other players are healthy scratches: defensive lineman Jack Heflin and safety Vernon Scott.

On the Bengals’ end, they avoided missing significant contributors across the board. Starting center Trey Hopkins (knee), running back Joe Mixon (ankle), defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi (knee), and cornerback Trae Waynes (hamstring) were all listed as questionable on Friday but are all active for Sunday’s game. Certainly, Cincinnati got better news this morning than the Green Bay Packers did.
