Eventually, he delivered.
Mason Crosby’s rough day last Sunday in Cincinnati has been well-documented here at Acme Packing Company, but he came through for the Green Bay Packers — finally — late in overtime with a 49-yard game-winning field goal. Seven days later, the Packers are back in action, this time against their oldest rivals.
The Packers have an opportunity to stake a major early claim to the NFC North this season with a win today. That would put them two games up on today’s opponents, the Chicago Bears, with a head-to-head win in hand. But if Chicago finds a way to win this afternoon, that will pull the teams even at 4-2 on the season with Chicago holding the tiebreaker.
Green Bay heads into this game as the favorites, however, giving 4.5 points on the road at Soldier Field. The Packers have dominated the rivalry of late, however, losing just one of the teams’ last ten meetings and going 22-5 against the Bears since Aaron Rodgers took over as the starting quarterback in 2008.
