Sunday afternoon’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers saw the players ranked 7th and 8th on the all-time touchdown pass leaderboard squaring off. Aaron Rodgers came into the game with 418 scores, trailing Dan Marino by two for sixth place, while Ben Roethlisberger had 399 in the eighth spot.

Roethlisberger hit a milestone early in the game, throwing his 400th scoring pass in the first quarter. But it was Rodgers who moved up a notch on the leaderboard, thanks to some help from old friend Randall Cobb.

After a 23-yard touchdown pass to Cobb to tie the game at seven points in the second quarter, Rodgers found Cobb again in the third quarter for a one-yard score to put the Packers up 27-10. That gave Rodgers 420 passing touchdowns for his career, pulling him even with Marino and leaving him one shy of Philip Rivers for fifth place all-time.

The scores were also Rodgers’ 40th and 41st to Cobb in the players’ career. That pulled Cobb into a tie with James Jones for the third-most receiving touchdowns for any receiver from Rodgers.

Stay tuned to see if Rodgers can catch Rivers for 5th place by the end of today’s game.
