It’s well past time to get the 2021 NFL Draft underway, if only because we have quite certainly run out of content. To wit: Packers.com ran a piece Friday outlining something the Packers didn’t do: for the first time in 24 years, the Packers didn’t draft a defensive lineman.
An amusing anecdote, to be sure, but definitely from the lowest part of the content barrel, if not the bottom itself.
If you look at the piece slightly differently, it could even come across as some light grousing about the lack of depth the Packers currently have on the defensive line. And if the official mouthpiece of the team has reached even the slightest amount of dissatisfaction with something, you know that things have gotten pretty sparse in the content universe.
That must mean it’s nearly time for the Draft to get underway. Either that, or it’s time to grind out one more mock draft.

Draft Digest: Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech | Packers.com
Farley is an enigmatic prospect, one that invites you to see what you want to see. If you’re inclined to like him, you see a high-achieving elite athlete who may be among the best (if not the best) corner in the class. If you’re not so inclined, you see a guy who’s been away from football for a year and had back surgery in the interim. Quite a split, and both sides might be right!

One of the best annual draft events is worrying about the help the Packers need at inside linebacker and then watching them not spend any meaningful draft capital on a linebacker.
