“Who wanted to kick that field goal?”
It was a much-hyped answer on Final Jeopardy! in Aaron Rodgers’ first appearance as guest host, with the returning champion on the episode deciding to have some fun with the game well out of his reach. For his part, Rodgers had fun with it — he has made his position clear on the Green Bay Packers’ decision to kick a field goal late in the NFC Championship Game instead of trying to go for a touchdown on fourth and goal — and his reaction at the end of Monday’s episode was simply to laugh and agree with the contestant.
All in all, Rodgers seemed to settle into the host role as the first episode went on. It should be interesting to see if he keeps that up over the remaining nine episodes, but one thing is certain: he wants to be a serious contender for the full-time gig to succeed Alex Trebek.
Discussion of Rodgers’ hosting dominated Packers-related news on Monday, with only a little bit of other news to discuss. We’ll also take a quick look at a potentially intriguing cornerback prospect and a general evaluation of the Packers’ options with the 29th pick in today’s Curds.
