The Green Bay Packers got some encouraging news on Sunday coming out of their preseason opener against the Houston Texans on Saturday. While quarterback Jordan Love’s day ended early after getting “dinged” a bit on a hit late in the first half, his shoulder evidently suffered no lasting damage.
That’s good news for a young player who needs all the training camp and preseason reps he can get. In his first game action, Love looked inconsistent, with one exceptional drive and a handful of duds in two quarters of action. The challenge for a young player like Love is of course to become more consistent and string together more series like the touchdown drive he led in the second quarter, and the best way to do it is with more reps. Unfortunately, this week might be a bit of a setback for him, which could mean a lot of Kurt Benkert on Saturday.
While we look back at Love’s game, we’ll also look back at other players who did or didn’t impress in their first game action of the summer. A pair of much-maligned 2018 draft picks show up in this analysis, one on the positive side and one on the negative. It’s do-or-die time for these two and many more on the Packers’ roster, which will be trimmed down from 90 to 85 players on Tuesday in the first stage of cuts.
Keep it here at APC for more analysis and news throughout the week as we move forward towards the second preseason game on Saturday.

I don't need to be stoned to want Taco Bell after sitting in an MRI machine for a half hour, so why is that part of this story even relevant?
