Finally, the 2021 season can truly begin for the Green Bay Packers. After the longest offseason in recent memory, made to feel much longer than usual by the drama between Aaron Rodgers and the team’s front office, all parties are finally ready to take the field for the season opener in the quest for the 14th NFL Championship in franchise history.
That quest begins in Jacksonville, Florida this afternoon against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints host today’s game away from home due to the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, but early reports indicate that the majority of the crowd will be wearing green with their gold than black.
Can the Packers get out to an early start on the season with a win over a Saints team that has seen significant turnover and injuries at key positions? Or will the Florida heat prove to be a challenge for the team that usually plays in much cooler weather?
As always, keep it here at Acme Packing Company for updates throughout today’s game and follow below for commentary from APC and other individuals who cover the Packers.
