College Football Week 3 Schedule & Discussion: Tune in for Alabama-Florida

The top SEC matchup is the only game between ranked teams this weekend.

Today in college football, we find a rematch of last year’s SEC Championship Game to lead the way on a relatively quiet week three Saturday. The defending national champion Alabama Crimson Tide face the team that they beat in Atlanta last year, the Florida Gators, in this week’s premier game.

Last year’s conference title game was a thriller and although Florida trailed for almost the entire game, they made a tremendous push in the second half. Unfortunately for the Gators, they came up just short in a 52-46 loss, which sent Nick Saban’s team on to the College Football playoff with the top seed.

Besides that game, there are a few interesting old rivalries being rekindled this year. Since Nebraska joined the Big Ten early last decade, they have not played old Big XII rivals Oklahoma, but they will do so on FOX in the early slate today. Midwestern football fans will also have an Indiana rivalry between Purdue and Notre Dame, while a Big Ten-SEC matchup between Auburn and Penn State goes down as the only game between ranked teams other than the Bama-Florida contest.

Get your TVs warmed up for a long day of college football, and join us here to discuss throughout the day.
