NFL Week 2 Sunday Schedule & Discussion: Chiefs-Ravens gets Sunday Night treatment

Over the last few years, an intriguing rivalry has emerged in the AFC. The Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens have both been among the best teams in that conference in recent years, led by dynamic young quarterbacks in Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson.

On Sunday Night Football, the two teams will meet for the fourth straight regular season, with the Ravens hoping to find a path to victory for the first time in these quarterbacks’ young careers. Mahomes and the Chiefs have won each game in the past three seasons, claiming a 27-24 overtime victory in December 2018 before winning 33-28 and 34-20 in September 2019 and 2020, respectively.

Indeed, Mahomes has been the star in each of those three contests, throwing for multiple touchdowns and over 370 yards in each of them. Jackson has not matched Mahomes’ throwing ability, but he has put up solid rushing numbers in these contests as Baltimore’s run game led their offensive success.
