Current CFL All-Star and former Green Bay Packer Marc-Antoine Dequoy had plenty of words after being named a champion.

If you don’t remember the name Marc-Antoine Dequoy, here’s a refresher. The former Green Bay Packers safety signed with the squad as an undrafted free agent in 2020, before being released in August of that year. Prior to joining the Packers, Dequoy was a standout player at the University of Montreal, earning an East-West Shrine Bowl invitation following his U Sports career. During the pro day process, Dequoy recorded a 4.35-second 40-yard dash time, which drew the eyes of NFL scouts.

Since being released by the Packers in 2020, Dequoy returned to Canada to play for his hometown Montreal Alouettes in the CFL. This past season, he was named a CFL All-Star and has been recognized as one of the league’s best homegrown talents.

On Sunday, the Alouettes took down the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Grey Cup, the CFL’s version of the Super Bowl, by a score of 28-24. After the win, Dequoy went on a classic “nobody believed in us” rant in French.

They never believed in us, man. You look everywhere, it’s written in English. You checked TSN, it was written “Toronto vs. Winnipeg.” You come here and they only speak English. They never believed in us! But you know what, man? Keep your English, because we’re taking the cup. We’re gonna bring it to Montreal, back to Quebec, and we’re gonna lift it at home because we’re the ****** champions! Let’s gooooo!

Another recognizable name to Packers fans is a member of Montreal’s championship secondary: Kabion Ento. Ento is in his first year in the CFL and recorded an interception in the championship game. Previously, Ento spent four years in Green Bay, where he transitioned from wide receiver to cornerback.
