The Green Bay Packers will be close to full force against the Chicago Bears on Sunday for the team’s season finale — a must-win game for the Packers if they want to advance to the NFL postseason. Despite being listed as questionable by the team on Friday, left guard Elgton Jenkins (knee/ankle), tight end Luke Musgrave (kidney), receiver Jayden Reed (chest), outside linebacker Preston Smith (ankle), receiver Dontayvion Wicks (chest) and running back Emanuel Wilson (shoulder) will all suit up for Green Bay today.
The only Packers who will be inactive due to injury are receiver Christian Watson (hamstring), running back AJ Dillon (thumb/neck) and inside linebacker Isaiah McDuffie (concussion/neck). Watson and Dillon are both preferred players in the offensive rotation, but McDuffie is an injury sub who plays in place of De’Vondre Campbell and Quay Walker.
Speaking of Campbell, it appears that the linebacker has now fully recovered from the neck injury that caused him to miss nearly a month of action. Frustratedly, after the Buccaneers game, Campbell announced to the world that he was no longer going to push through injuries to see the field. At the time, Campbell was listed on the injury report with a neck injury but had played three consecutive games for the Packers.
Hopefully, Campbell can make it through the full game. If not, he will be replaced by the team’s fourth linebacker: Eric Wilson, who mostly plays special teams.
Along with the injured players, here are the healthy scratches for the Packers in Week 18: outside linebacker Brenton Cox Jr., tackle Caleb Jones and receiver Grant DuBose. It’s worth noting here that DuBose, a 2023 draft pick, was elevated from Green Bay’s practice squad on Saturday — a possible sign of how close it was that the team could have ruled either Reed or Wicks inactive.
On the Bears’ side of the injury report, the big news is that star cornerback Jaylon Johnson is out for the game. Unless Johnson is hit with the franchise tag, there’s a good chance that Johnson’s final game in a Bears uniform is behind us. Chicago will also be out receiver Darnell Mooney, who is third on the team in receptions and receiving yards.
