APC Podcast, 12/12: Analyzing the Joe Philbin effect

Was the Packers’ victory over Atlanta merely a dead cat bounce, or is there something to the Philbin effect?

For better or for worse, the Green Bay Packers now find themselves fully ensconced in the Joe Philbin era. A team that looked disjointed and disinterested on offense under Mike McCarthy seemed to play with more charisma and cooperation under the rule of their new interim leader. QB Aaron Rodgers looked more decisive. Offensive timing and rhythm improved, and the personnel packages seemed to flow better.

The Packers’ throttling of the talented but underachieving Atlanta Falcons leaves us wondering: is this merely a dead cat bounce, or is there something to the Philbin effect? To help break it all down, we’re thrilled to welcome back to the show the super knowledgeable Ben Fennell. Ben does Packers film breakdown for the Athletic and never disappoints when he stops by.
