Packers-Vikings Preview podcast: Minnesota is in trouble heading into week 8

The Athletic’s Arif Hasan joins the show to help get Packers fans up to speed on the faltering Minnesota Vikings.

The Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers are teams headed in very different directions.

After rebounding from a loss to Tampa Bay, the Packers currently sit atop the NFC, are getting healthier, and have a relatively friendly schedule the rest of the way (with a few notable exceptions).

Meanwhile, a Vikings team that added Yannick Ngakoue for one last push toward eliteness has already shed the pass rusher from its locker room after the stark realization that they may, in fact, be a bad football team.

They can move the ball and score some points, but QB Kirk Cousins is having one of the worst years of his career by many measurements. Meanwhile, you’d be hard pressed to remember the names of more than 3 defensive starters.

We invited our friend Arif Hasan back to the program, not to rub salt on an open wound, but to get a genuine update for what’s happened this year in Minnesota, and what (if it’s possible) a Vikings win would look like on Sunday.
