APC Podcast: MVS = Maybe Very Serviceable?

Is Packers receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling finally (finally) turning a corner?

Although we try to avoid coming off as too entitled here at the APC Podcast, we couldn’t help but grumble in our post game show about the Green Bay Packers narrow win over the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. So, in the spirit of attempting to shake off the “entitled town” moniker in this episode, we try to focus on some of the positive notes to come out of this game.

An obvious choice is the impactful performance of WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, which couldn’t have come at a better time. With Davante Adams fumbling and Aaron Jones getting nothing on the ground, MVS stepped up to deliver the right plays at the right time. His 149 yards represent nearly half of Aaron Rodgers’ passing yards and his 78-yard touchdown catch and run was a thing of beauty.

Valdes-Scantling has struggled with drops this season, but has always had the confidence of the QB. Is MVS turning the corner? If he can be relied upon to be even a serviceable starting wide receiver, the sky is the limit for this offense once Allen Lazard returns to full strength.
