Well, Packers fans, we'll have to wait at least another week before our team's star quarterback is back on the field. Aaron Rodgers was ruled out in today's final injury report for Sunday's game between the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons, leaving the starting job to Matt Flynn for the weekend.
On the whole, the Packers' injury report has nine names, but the offensive line looks like it will only miss one starter, if any. Left tackle David Bakhtiari is listed as probable with an illness, while starting center Evan Dietrich-Smith is questionable with an ankle injury. According to Mike McCarthy in his press conference today, EDS will test his ankle on Saturday to determine whether or not he will be able to play Sunday.
Here's the Packers' full injury report.
Name | Position | Injury | Status |
Aaron Rodgers | QB | Collarbone | OUT |
C.J. Wilson | DE | Ankle | OUT |
Evan Dietrich-Smith | C | Ankle | Questionable |
David Bakhtiari | LT | Illness | Probable |
Brandon Bostick | TE | Concussion | Probable |
Jamari Lattimore | ILB | Quad | Probable |
Mike Neal | OLB | Abdomen | Probable |
Nick Perry | OLB | Foot | Probable |
Ryan Pickett | DT | Knee | Probable |
If Dietrich-Smith can go, that would be a huge help for the Packers' offensive line. If not, we'll likely see T.J. Lang move to center, with Lane Taylor, Don Barclay, and Marshall Newhouse mixing around at right guard and right tackle.
As for the Falcons, teir their injury report has only four names on it, and is as follows:
Name | Position | Injury | Status |
Tony Gonzalez | TE | Toe | Questionable |
Zeke Motta | S | Hand | Questionable |
Peter Konz | C/G | Ankle | Probable |
Sean Weatherspoon | LB | Knee | Probable |
Obviously, Gonzalez is the biggest name on that list. He practiced all week, though (albeit in a limited fashion), so it would be a surprise if he can't play on Sunday.
As a reminder, we'll post the inactive players as soon as possible on Sunday morning. In the meantime, don't forget to check out our Q&A with The Falcoholic.
