Packers Injuries: Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams Not Practicing Monday

Monday's closed practice features the greatest number of players sitting out for the Packers thus far in camp.

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers are back on the practice field today, but for a session which is closed to the fans following Saturday's preseason game against the Titans.

Some media are in attendance today, however, and a big surprise from early in practice is how long the list of non-participating players has become. There are several new names on the list, as we see in this tweet from ESPN's Rob Demovsky:

Jordy Nelson is probably the most concerning new addition to the list. He was held out of Saturday's game (along with Aaron Rodgers and Eddie Lacy), and most expected that it was simply for precautionary reasons. However, his absence today calls that into question.

Other new names on the list include rookie wideout Davante Adams, who on Saturday had two muffed punts (one lost) but two receptions, and defensive lineman Josh Boyd, who has been backing up both Mike Daniels at right end and B.J. Raji at nose tackle.

We still have no new information yet on the knee injury to rookie running back Rajion Neal, but we will pass along anything new as we hear it.

Finally, one name notable from its absence on this list is that of safety Morgan Burnett, who returned to practice today from his oblique injury. We'll keep an eye on his status as well over the next few days.

UPDATE: Thankfully, it appears that Nelson's injury is relatively minor, as Mike McCarthy said later in the day that the receiver was "day-to-day."
